You Know You're A Genetic Genealogist When...

You Know You're A Genetic Genealogist When:

10. You can't look at Q-Tips or Scope mouthwash without thinking about DNA testing.

9. When you meet new acquaintances, you mentally guess their haplogroup instead of their ethnicity.

8. You have a vanity plate of your haplogroup (i.e.: R1a) and you're the only person you know who knows what it means.

7. You attend a family gathering and catch yourself mentally mapping your relatives' DNA ancestral patterns.

6. You get an adrenaline rush when new results are posted to your DNA project.

5. You can't look at any pattern of brightly colored circles, like balloons or gumballs, without thinking of the double helix.

4. You automatically associate people's surnames with DNA projects.

3. You find your mind wandering in church during the scripture readings, "I wonder if Jesus was a 'J'?"

2. You see an affair on "Desperate Housewives" and think about how future generations will be affected by the non-paternal event.

and the #1 sign you're a genetic genealogist:

You tell someone that you want their DNA and they think it's a pick-up line...or you really are using it as a pick-up line!
